Chocolate Fondant

This simple chocolate fondant recipe with a melting molten middle is the perfect pudding for impressing at a dinner party. Served with clotted or ice cream with
fresh berries this makes a delicious dessert.

INGREDIENTS

15g butter and 1 tbsp cocoa powder to line the moulds

125g dark chocolate
125g butter
4 eggs
100g caster sugar
60g plain flour
Icing sugar, for dusting

Ice cream or clotted cream and fresh berries to serve

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 200C.

  1. Brush 6 x 8cm dariole moulds with butter then coat in cocoa powder.

  2. Place a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water to melt together the butter and the chocolate.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar then add the melted chocolate and butter mixture. Fold in the flour until thoroughly combined.

  4. Divide between the 6 moulds, place onto a baking tray and bake for 9 minutes.

  5. Tip onto plates then dust with icing sugar. Serve with clotted or ice cream on the side.
